Covid-19: KV Sangathan closes all schools across India, including three on foreign soil, till March 31

PRAYAGRAJ: The Kendriya Vidyalya Sangathan (KVS) has instructs closure of all the Three KV’s located at foreign soil. These include KV Kathmandu, Moscow and Tehran till March 31. Besides, all the KV’s of the country, of the 25 regions, too have been closed by the Sangathan.

In the letter, signed by the joint commissioner Dr E Prabhakar of the headquarters and addressed to deputy commissioners of all the regions, mentions about the precaution to be taken in light of Novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The letter mentioned that adequate measures are to be taken to ensure the safety and security of students and teachers as also their family members.

“All the principles of KV’s under their jurisdiction are asked to comply with these instructions and schools would be closed for the teachers while the office staff including principals would be coming as normal days”, said the Joint Commissioner, Prabhakar. He added that the teachers have to remain connected with their respective schools via various mediums and will cooperate in case of any emergency or need at the school level.

Talking of the precautions, the letter says that all KV’s shall remain closed till March 31st and all ongoing exams of classes will be rescheduled after March 31st. Likewise all the evolution work that is being conducted at over 1200 odd KV’s across the country would be rescheduled and performed after March 31st.

Besides all activities including sports training programs except will remain suspended till further notice. The letter of the joint Commissioner also says that the re-scheduled date will be communicated by March 31st after reassessment of the situation.
